Evening Talks and Presentations

A lot of groups visiting Normandy base themselves in Bayeux where I live. Perhaps you have planned your touring days with another guide or company but would like to continue your learning experience in the evenings? Maybe you have free time on the day you arrive in Normandy, or a free night after your tour?

I completely understand that people's time in Normandy is limited and that many people have an interest in the battle beyond the sites they will visit on a tour. Well, an evening talk can be exactly the right solution to maximise your time in Normandy.

I am now taking reservations for either informal talks - perhaps with your group at dinner or if you have a bigger group, a proper Powerpoint planned presentation in a conference room.

There are a wide range of subjects I can talk about including:
  • Inland from the Beaches - battling through the hedgerows
  • The weapons, uniforms and equipment of the Armies that fought in Normandy
  • The reasons for the American paratroop miss-drops or DDay
  • WWII veteran stories - the heroes I have spent time with including Wild Bill Guarnere, Major John Howard, Hal Baumgarten, Don Burgett etc
  • German v Allied armour in Normandy
  • The Falaise Gap and the Corridor of death
  • Question and Answer - put your questions to me about DDay, the Normandy campaign and other battles
  • Book discussions - we can talk about the many books on Normandy and who the best authors are
  • Angels of Mercy - The medics at Angoville-au-Plain. If you have visited the church on tour and would like a longer more detailed presentation
If you are here following the route of a particular veteran in your family, I can also give talks about a specific unit or campaign.

Please contact me for more information. My price for an evening presentation starts at 45 Euros per hour. If you wish me to talk over dinner to your group, I would normally expect my meal to be covered too.
